Background of the Award

Chuck Hall dedicated the majority of his adult life to supporting young people, particularly through his involvement with junior bowling. He became a field representative for the American Junior Bowling Congress in 1959, and by 1962, he had risen to the position of executive director, overseeing the organization's daily operations.

In 1982, the AJBC merged with the Youth Bowling Association to form the Young American Bowling Alliance (YABA), with Hall serving as the executive director until his retirement in 1985. Throughout his tenure with AJBC and YABA, Hall seized numerous opportunities to advocate for youth bowling and played a significant role in the creation and growth of the Youth Leaders program.

The American Bowling Congress initiated its male Star of Tomorrow scholarship competition in 1980, which was subsequently named the Chuck Hall Star of Tomorrow in honor of Hall's contributions to the sport.
