FAEE Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Foundation of the Association of Energy Engineers
Overview
The AEE Foundation offers scholarships to eligible, motivated undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at accredited colleges or universities who are studying energy-related fields. Eligible majors include (but are not limited to) energy engineering, energy management, environmental engineering, and sustainability.
Eligibility
This opportunity is open to current undergraduate and graduate students pursuing engineering or sustainability-related programs at accredited institutions. If your major aligns with the energy fields listed above, you may apply.
How to Apply (Key Steps)
1. Confirm eligibility (see above).
2. Gather required materials listed in the Application Documents Checklist below.
3. Obtain a nomination from a local AEE Chapter — all individual applicants must be nominated.
4. Submit your complete application electronically to your local AEE Chapter by April 24, 2026.
5. If there is no AEE Chapter in your state or country, contact Cameron Sonefeld, FAEE Scholarship Director, for guidance.
Notification
Scholarship decisions are posted by August 1 each year. Applicants selected for awards will be notified by email.
Application Documents Checklist
- Student Application: Complete the appropriate form — either the US STUDENT APPLICATION or the INTL STUDENT APPLICATION.
- Transcripts: Unofficial transcripts are acceptable. Transcripts must show dates, institutional name(s), and full student identification. Applications may be audited or reviewed. International applicants must submit all supporting materials translated into English.
- Essay: A 200–300 word statement explaining why you intend to build a career in the energy industry, your genuine financial need, and your professional/personal goals.
- Recommendation Letter(s): One or two letters are acceptable. Letters may come from faculty, AEE Chapter officers, corporate supervisors, or representatives of non-profit organizations. No more than two letters per applicant.
- Additional Documentation: Optional supporting materials such as award notices, volunteer records, or other relevant experience (limit two pages).
