Greater Jacksonville Fair Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by Greater Jacksonville Fair Association
For nearly seven decades, the Greater Jacksonville Agricultural Fair Association has proudly donated over $2.6 million to local charities and provided scholarships to deserving students seeking to advance their education. The Association's aim in providing these scholarships is to foster personal development and support students who intend to pursue studies in agriculture, veterinary medicine, and other related fields.
Eligibility for this scholarship requires the student to be a resident of one of the following Florida counties: Duval, Baker, Bradford, Clay, Nassau, or St. Johns. Applicants must be at least in their senior year of high school and either enrolled or intending to enroll in a four-year university, junior college, or technical institution at the time of application.
The Scholarship Committee will only consider complete application packets, which must include the following:
- The completed application form
- An essay from the applicant, no longer than one page, briefly covering the following topics:
- The applicant's personal background
- A list of any awards or special recognition received from community, high school, sorority, fraternity, civic, agricultural, or religious organizations in which the applicant is or has been a member
- Involvement and awards from 4-H, FFA, Greater Jacksonville Agricultural Fair, or local or state fairs
- Leadership roles held within these organizations
- Three original letters of recommendation, preferably on the letterhead of the person providing the recommendation
All components of the application packet, including the application form, the applicant's essay, and the three letters of recommendation, must be submitted together to the offices of the Greater Jacksonville Agricultural Fair. The deadline for submission is October 1, 2025.
Applicants are requested not to fold or staple any part of the application packet. The complete scholarship packet can be sent via mail, email, or hand-delivered. Only complete packets (application, essay, and 3 letters of recommendation) received by the deadline will be considered by the Scholarship Committee. The Committee's decision is final. All applicants will be informed of the outcome during the first week of the Greater Jacksonville Agricultural Fair, where the scholarship recipients will be announced.
