Overview
The Alcanzando Un Sueño Scholarship provides financial support for Hispanic high school seniors entering college, covering funds for their freshman year. Since 2013, Cruz & Associates has distributed more than $250,000 in tuition assistance to students in the Atlanta and Phoenix areas. Applications are submitted online. Recipients are announced and honored at an annual scholarship dinner and reception attended by students, their families, and prominent community leaders.
Who is eligible
- Must be a resident of Georgia or Arizona.
- Must be a current high school senior who has earned the credits required to graduate.
- Must be of Hispanic/Latino heritage. (Applicants from Spain, Belize, Suriname, Guyana and French Guiana are not eligible.)
- Must be bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Must have a minimum high school GPA of 3.0 (official high school transcript required).
Required application materials
- Completed online application form.
- Resume outlining extra-curricular activities, volunteer work, and employment.
- Two letters of recommendation from non-family members; at least one letter must be from a faculty member at your school.
- Letter of acceptance from an accredited institution of higher education (college, university, or technical school).
- Digital headshot or yearbook photo (individual photos only — no group pictures).
- Official high school transcript showing GPA.
Deadlines and delivery
- Online applications must be submitted by 11:59 PM on May 1.
- Hard copy materials (if sending) must arrive at our office by the close of business on May 1.
- All application materials must be received or delivered to our office by May 1 to be considered.
Award ceremony requirement
- Scholarship recipients are required to attend the awards dinner. Failure to be present at the ceremony will result in forfeiture of the award.
