Introduction
Each spring the Elizabeth & Patrick Nash Foundation provides academic scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $2,500 to help individuals with cystic fibrosis pursue undergraduate and graduate study.
Who is eligible
- Must be a U.S. citizen living with cystic fibrosis.
- Must be an entering or currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited college or university based in the United States.
Required application materials
- Completed application form
- One-page essay describing your future goals
- Letter of recommendation from a teacher
- Documentation confirming a cystic fibrosis diagnosis
- Academic transcript
- Itemized statement of tuition and required fees from your academic institution
Recipient responsibilities
Scholarship awardees must agree, if requested by the Foundation’s Board of Directors, to assist with outreach by composing up to 10 donor thank-you notes or fundraising letters.
Selection factors
Candidates will be evaluated on academic performance, personal character, demonstrated leadership, involvement in CF-related activities and broader community service, and financial need.
Award logistics
- Scholarship funds are paid directly to the recipient’s academic institution to help cover tuition and fees.
- Awards cover one academic year. Recipients may reapply in subsequent years.
Important dates
- 2026–2027 application deadline: April 1, 2026. Incomplete or late submissions will not be considered.
- Award notifications will be emailed by June 1, 2026.
