Deadline: Applications must arrive by January 31. Candidates who meet the requirements will be interviewed in March, and scholarship recipients will be notified toward the end of March.
Selection factors
The scholarship committee evaluates applicants using three factors:
- Financial need.
- Academic achievement, including standardized test results.
- Personal character, as judged by school and volunteer involvement, the strength of the applicant’s personal statement and recommendation letters, and performance during the interview.
Who is eligible
Applicants must be young men or women who have worked at a CSGA member club for at least one full golf season and who will be employed by a member club during the current year. Eligible positions include caddie, golf shop staff, grounds/maintenance, and clubhouse roles (dining room, locker room, or other appropriate assignments). In addition, applicants must meet all of the following conditions:
1. Be a high school senior graduating in the current year and demonstrate good character and citizenship.
2. Have a record of volunteer service at school and in the broader community.
3. Demonstrate financial need to be able to attend college.
4. Provide at least three letters of recommendation from: (a) a club officer or the employing official; (b) a teacher, principal, or guidance counselor; and (c) a community member unaffiliated with the golf club or school who knows the applicant well enough to write a reference.
5. Receive the endorsement of the CSGA-appointed Club Representative.
