ASNT Engineering Undergraduate Award

The Undergraduate Engineering Scholarship is a financial aid program specifically tailored for undergraduate students pursuing engineering degrees, particularly in the area of nondestructive testing (NDT). The primary objective of this scholarship is to financially support promising students, enabling them to reach their academic aspirations and contribute to the progression of the NDT sector.
Qualification Criteria
Eligibility for this scholarship extends to undergraduate students who are currently enrolled in a recognized engineering program at a college or university at the time of application submission. Each applicant must demonstrate that their expected graduation date is beyond the date the scholarship funds are scheduled for disbursement. Additionally, candidates must exhibit an active interest in the nondestructive testing and evaluation field.
Recipient Selection
Each year, up to three scholarship recipients are chosen based on the following factors:
- Academic achievement as reflected in transcripts.
- Quality of essay submission.
- Clarity and comprehensibility.
- Potential for contributing to the NDT field.
- Supporting letters from faculty members.
- Overall impression.
Application Process
Students interested in applying for the scholarship must provide the following:
- An original essay (not exceeding 500 words) that effectively communicates their understanding of NDT/NDE, any prior education in NDT/NDE, anticipated future contributions to NDT/NDE, and how the scholarship will enhance their career prospects in NDT/NDE.
- Official transcripts from their school, detailing all completed coursework.
- A detailed outline of the student’s study program.
- Three separate letters of endorsement from faculty members.
