AFSCME Family Scholarship

Qualification Requirements:
Graduating high school seniors who have a parent or legal guardian who is a member of AFSCME are eligible for these awards. They must be enrolled full-time in a degree program at an accredited four-year institution or a two-year institution that allows credit transfer to a four-year institution. Additionally, they must have taken either the SAT or ACT.
Evaluation Criteria:
The Scholarship Selection Committee will review the application form, essay, transcript, and ACT or SAT scores. They will also take into account any recommendations or other evidence that demonstrates the applicant's character and capabilities. Submission Deadlines:
Application forms become available in August. The deadline for submission is December 31 (postmarked by this date). The announcement of the winners will be made by March 31.

Scholarship Value:
The scholarship is worth $2,000 and can be renewed annually for up to four years, as long as the student remains enrolled full-time in a degree program at an accredited institution. The scholarship can be used for any field of study.
