As technology advances and the demand for environmentally friendly products, processes, and packaging increases, there is an abundance of job openings and opportunities in pulp and paper companies for engineers with technical training.

The Pulp and Paper Foundation at the University of Maine offers full or partial tuition scholarships to ambitious students of chemical, civil, computer, electrical, and mechanical engineering at the University of Maine who are keen on building careers in the thriving paper industry.
Every year, we grant over 130 of these scholarships, funded by annual donations from over 60 companies across 50 states, as well as personal contributions from over 300 alumni and friends.
Academic Requirements
Throughout their studies, Pulp and Paper Foundation scholarship recipients must exhibit or possess the following:
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- An active interest in a career in the pulp and paper or supplier industries, demonstrated by:
- Participation in Chinn Management Seminars
- Membership in Student Organizations
- Co-op job or internships after the second year of study
- Further details will be provided upon scholarship award.
