Americanism Essay Contest

Introduction
The FRA conducts an annual essay competition to encourage Americanism and patriotism among young people. The Americanism Essay Contest is held each year and welcomes submissions from students in grades 7 through 12, including those who are home-schooled.
Eligibility
- Open to all students in grades 7–12 (home-schooled students eligible).
How to enter
- Entrants must submit a 350-word essay.
- Submissions are sent through an FRA member or a local FRA branch.
- All entries must be received by the December 1st deadline.
Progression of competition
- Winners chosen at the local level move on to regional competition.
- Regional winners advance to the national level for final judging.
Prizes and recognition
- The national grand prize is $1,500.
- Additional national awards are $1,000 for first place, $750 for second place, and $500 for third place.
- Each national winner will be presented with an attractive plaque recognizing the achievement.
- Every entrant who is evaluated at the national level will receive a certificate of recognition.
- Local and regional competitions may also present monetary or other prizes to their winners.
