Value: $2,500
Awards Available: 1
Deadline : Nov 01, 2025

The Ralph and Ruth Frank Gross Scholarship was established in honor of its namesakes, who deeply valued education. The scholarship aims to inspire individuals to better themselves and provide a brighter future for their children. It is specifically designed for government employees and their families, in recognition of their often overlooked contributions to society. The scholarship can be applied towards college, university, or vocational education, with awards ranging from $500 to $2,500 per student.

Eligibility criteria for the scholarship are as follows:

  • Applicants must demonstrate financial need and should not be recipients of any other scholarships or grants.
  • Applicants must be residents of Florida. High school seniors applying for the scholarship must have an SAT score of 1100 or higher (CR + MA) and provide official high school transcripts.
  • Applicants must plan to attend a college, university, or vocational institute within Florida, either full-time or part-time. Note that graduate students are not eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must commit to abstaining from tobacco products, illegal drugs, and excessive alcohol consumption for the duration of the award.
  • Applicants must agree not to join a social sorority or fraternity while receiving the award. However, membership in an honorary, academic, or professional sorority or fraternity is permitted.
  • If the applicant's employer offers a tuition reimbursement program, the applicant may not be eligible for this award.

In addition to the above, applicants must meet at least ONE of the following criteria:

  • Be a current full-time employee of a government entity in Broward County.
  • Be a retired or former employee who worked full-time for a government entity in Broward County for a minimum of five years.
  • Be a former employee who became disabled as a result of performing their job duties while employed full-time for at least five years at a government entity in Broward County.
