Clark Foundation Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Clark Foundation Scholarship Program
The Clark Foundation Scholarship Program is a financial aid initiative aimed at assisting students from 12 school districts in New York State to pursue education beyond high school. This could be in the form of post-secondary programs at any recognized higher education institution. The scholarship is available to students from the following districts: Cooperstown, Cherry Valley-Springfield, Edmeston, Gilbertsville-Mount Upton, Laurens, Milford, Morris, Mount Markham, Owen D. Young, Richfield Springs, Schenevus, and Worcester, as well as the Otsego Area Occupational Center BOCES in Milford.
Since its inception, The Clark Foundation Scholarship has supported over 14,800 eligible students in their post-secondary education. Each academic year, the program awards scholarships worth approximately $4 million to nearly 800 recipients.

The guidance departments forward the applications to The Clark Foundation Scholarship Office in early February. Applications are then reviewed and applicants are informed of their status by the end of March.

Criteria for High School Scholarship Award
The Clark Foundation Scholarship Program grants scholarships based on academic ability, personal character and conduct, contribution to school and community, and the potential for successful achievement in higher education. If the student’s achievements warrant support, The Clark Foundation Scholarship awards continue throughout the recipient’s eight-semester undergraduate career. A personal interview is required to enter the program and to maintain the scholarship each academic year.
The Clark Foundation Scholarship Program is not restricted to students aiming for traditional four-year colleges. Students attending accredited certificate, associate degree or baccalaureate level programs are also eligible for support. Enrollment must be for at least one academic year (usually no less than 10 months) and the student must be enrolled for no less than 12 credits per semester. In certain cases, programs requiring additional semesters also receive approval. Support for extended studies is primarily focused on health care programs (such as pharmacy or physical therapy). Graduate assistance is limited to Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine, Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant programs.
