Parker & Sons, in collaboration with Arizona Sports, is delighted to present the Character Counts Scholarship. This $10,000 scholarship is designed to recognize and reward local high school students who have demonstrated exceptional character and commitment to their communities.

Eligibility Criteria

This scholarship is open to any local high school student aged between 14 and 18 who exhibits:

  • Remarkable character in all aspects of life
  • Admirable sportsmanship
  • Active participation and contribution to the community

Procedure:

Do you know a student who is a paragon of character? Nominations can be made by anyone - teachers, coaches, parents, peers, or even the students themselves.

Out of all the nominations received, 10 finalists will be chosen. Each finalist will:

  • Be showcased on Arizona Sports Radio and ArizonaSports.com
  • Have their inspiring story shared on the Character Counts page of Arizona Sports
  • Be invited to the esteemed Character Counts Award Ceremony along with their family
  • Stand a chance to win the $10,000 scholarship, which will be decided by a panel of judges from Parker & Sons and Arizona Sports.

Application Process

Nominating a student is an easy process:

  1. Go to the Parker & Sons Character Counts Nominations page on Arizona Sports.
  2. Complete the nomination form.
  3. Describe how the nominee embodies character, sportsmanship, and dedication to the community.

Key Dates

  • Nominations are currently being accepted!
  • Deadline: All nominations must be submitted by December 31st.
  • The top 10 finalists will be announced and honored at the award ceremony in Spring 2025, where the recipient of the $10,000 scholarship will be unveiled.
