In 2010, Mrs. Nancy Knight established the Ralph M. Knight Chemistry and Engineering Scholarship in honor of her late husband, Ralph, a chemical engineer. The Knight family aims to continue his legacy by assisting others in making significant contributions to society.
Who Can Apply:
Applicants for the Ralph M. Knight Chemistry and Engineering Scholarship must be full-time seniors enrolled in a Catholic high school within the Phoenix Diocese. They must also be practicing Catholics who are either U.S. citizens or permanent residents. The scholarship is not awarded based on financial need or high school GPA.
Scholarship Details:
- The scholarship recipient will be granted a one-time $5,000 award to be used for freshman-year tuition at a four-year college or university in the United States.
- The recipient must be pursuing a major in either chemistry or engineering.
- The scholarship funds will be sent directly to the recipient's college or university.
Assessment Criteria:
- Two online recommendations are required.
- Applicants must submit an essay on a topic provided in the application.

- The toolkit becomes available on July 1.
- The application process begins on December 1.
- The deadline for applications is January 31.
- Only one scholarship is awarded each year.
